RINALDO ROMAGNOLI

Prof. Rinaldo Romagnoli

A native of Siena, Italy Rinaldo Romagnoli, a Professor of Art and Graphics, Publicist, Scholar, and Writer, has for last twenty years dedicated himself to and supervised within the many museums, publications, cultural centers, language institutes in Florence, in direct collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Art runs in the family! His father Antonio Romagnoli was renown as one of the leading sculptors in the 19th century. His works are found in the Uffizi Gallery, the National Museum in Pisa, the National Museum in Roma, the Santa Fe` Gallery in Buenos Aires, and the Dolores Omeldo Patiño Museum in Mexico, just name a few.
Since 1981 Rinaldo has organized artistic (sculpture, paintings, photography, fashion) and cultural gatherings in the city of Florence.
In 1988 he founded the ISTITUTO EUROPEO (I.E.) adjacent to the Duomo (Cathedral of Florence), whose principle objective is the promotion of Italian language & culture to the international students, which to this day attend his beloved IE !!! The IE has grown internationally as a leading force in the diffusion of the Italy’s language, art and music, in its instruction of foreign students.
In 1996 the IE presented in Mexico City at the internationally prestigious FotoSeptiembre Latino Americano, the works of master photographer Capretti.
In 1998 the IE organized the 1st Annual International Singing Competition for non-Italian singers. This concert production has attracted great public interest and success at the Lyceum at the Giugni Palace in Firenze.
To this day, hundreds of international students have benefited enormously from the ISTITUTO EUROPEO and its staff, in collaboration with; the Italian Institute of Culture, the Institute of Art, the National Dept. Of Tourism, the Firenze Chamber of Commerce, the Institute of Design & Restoration, House of Fashion, Society of Dante Alighieri, Academy of Art & Performing Arts, Coverciano: the National Sports Center, Wine Association, Association of Music & Opera, School of Culinary Arts, the Institute of Orafa Art.

Fabrizio Polloni

Fabrizio maintains contacts with the schools and agencies that send students to ISTITUTO EUROPEO and studies and develops new marketing strategies. He also organizes some of the schools monthly activities such as dinners and nights, volleyball and soccer games. Speaking of soccer, Fabrizio has played professional and semi-professional soccer for years and he received his B.A., from ISEF- Higher Institute for Physical Education. He has recently developed a soccer camp and assists young players in finding teams.

Marco is the staff member that keeps ISTITUTO EUROPEO’s computer network running at top efficiency. Beside the system administration he is our webmaster. If you have a problem understanding something in the world of informatics, he is the person to call. Marco is originally from Venice.
B.A., in "Tropical and Sub-Tropical Agricultural Sciences" at the Università degli Studi di Firenze. He’s a former basketball player. He speaks several foreign languages, English, Spanish, French.

Stephanie Herbert

Stephanie is originally from Connecticut. While getting her B.A. in Italian from Connecticut College, she studied abroad in Rome and in Perugia for one year. After graduating in 2004, she moved to Florence, where she decided to get her M.A. in Italian from Middlebury College while working at various American schools. Both her experiences as an American student studying abroad in Italy and her experience assisting American students in Florence make her a great resource for the students. Stephanie maintains our relations in the U.S. and assists our students on a daily basis.
